INSPIRATORS is a series in which I’ll highlight some of my immensely talented friends or colleagues. Basically once (or maybe twice?) a month i’m going to make a post about a friend or friends in a creative field who deserve more recognition for the unbelievably wonderful things they create; be it music, photography, illustration, music, video or motion graphics, etc. I promise that you’ll enjoy these images, videos or sounds. So take a second and check em’ out?

Secret Colours portrait by Lenny Gilmore(Portrait by Lenny Gilmore)

This month is all about Secret Colours. Secret Colours is a Chicago-based spacey psych-rock band. To say they’re some rad dudes would be a total understatement.  There have been a small handful of members in the band, but the two remaining founding members, Tommy Evans, and Justin Fredrick have worked extremely hard and carved out a place for themselves in the music scene. The bands current roster is as follows: Tommy Evans – Vocals/Guitar, Mike Novak – Guitar, Justin Frederick – Drums, Eric Hehr – Bass, Max Brink – Bass, Maxx McGathey – Keys. Since the early days in 2010 Secret Colours has been on a steady rise in popularity. They’ve played festivals such as SXSW and Austin Psych Fest, and had their music featured on TV shows such as Shameless (HBO). This band has grown immensely in the past few years and I see great things ahead in their future.

If you’d like to see more you can take a look over at their FacebookBandcamp, or website.
